The 53’ Double Plug Door Box Car was manufactured in the late 1960s and early 1970s by the Evans Company and was used primarily to haul a selection of dry goods such as produce, wood and paper products, as well as canned goods. This particular car is leased by and decorated for Tropicana and is used for the transportation of orange juice without the use of refrigeration - instead, the interior is insulated to keep the goods inside the box at a stable temperature.
