One of the backbone cars of our countryâs intermodal service fleet, Atlas Oâs model accurately portrays the prototype. Based upon ACF cars built throughout the late 1960s and 1970s, these cars lasted in the North American railcar pool for many years. As the advent of articulating spine cars became more popular, these cars began to be replaced in COFC service. These cars could later be found in various services, such as maintenance of way, military, and hauling various sizes of loads, and can still be seen doing that today.
