Based off of a Pullman-Standard design, the Comet II was the succesor to these very popular commuter cars. Purchased in large quantities by multiple commuter agencies, their sleek yet modern design features two end doors, built for high and low level platforms, along with bathrooms and Head-End (HEP) A/C and heating. Around the same time, their cousins, the Horizon fleet, were built for longer distance services for AMTRAK. These cars feature 2x2 seating and separate cars for food and beverage services.
