Overview:

Not to be confused with the "other" Union Pacific, the Union Pacific Railway Eastern Division was originally a competitor to the UP we know today. And it's history is straight out of "old west" traditions and perhaps even more colorful than the loco-motive you see here! Ultimately the venture failed and the line was absorbed by the Union Pacific along with its motive power in 1880. The Seminole was another Rogers product of 1867 with similar dimensions to the Union Pacific's own 4-4-0s of the era. Seminole ended its career as Union Pacific 323 and was scrapped in 1889. While there were many strong Union Pacific candidates for this round, we found the colorful Seminole, both in appearance and the story it tells, too compelling to pass up!
